Technique for draining overfilled oil?

Hey all, I'm sorted now, but earlier, while doing my first every oil change (with no problems) I overfilled the Mille by a small amount. I put the catch tank back under and undid the oil tank screw again and drain a rough estimate of oil out. This was going fine until I couldn't get the damn screw to catch the thread and seal the tank, so I drained out a little more than I wanted. Lucdkily I had spare oil so I've now filled it to the correct level.

I know I shouldn't have over-filled in the first place....but....is there an easier way to drain it? Just tip the bike over?!

If I ever do this I use a hyperdermic syringe 30ml. and a length of 10mm. tubing. Stick in the top of the oil header tank and suck away. DO NOT LET THE TUBING FALL INTO THE TANK.
AND NO I AM NOT A DRGGIE - MY OTHER HALF IS A NURSE!

if you use the repsol oil it has a snorkel. you keep one empty for these cases. you just dive it into the oil tank while having pressed the bottle. then release and the oil will be sucked to the bottle. you are welcome :)

i use a length of tubing and the top from any kind of spray bottle and just spray it into a tub- more a method of necessity than anything else as i couldnt find anything else lol
