Hi, got a trip to France coming up soon and am wondering what the best option is re luggage? If possible I dont want to go down the route of changing to the stronger subframe as I will be travelling fairly light. Would it be ok just to swap the seat hump for a pillion seat and strap a Kriega 20 on or something? Does a pillion seat just fit straight on in place of the hump? Thanks.

I have n 02 standard mille and had to buy a pillion seat which I attach my kreiga gear to . If the R is the same , other than the subframe , you should be ok .

I bought a set of Oxford universal soft tail pack and panniers for £30 secondhand on ebay for mine and I'm going too Kent on it 2.5 hour trip on friday too see my folks shall take a few pics of the set up for ya when all strapped down.............

heres the bike with oxford panniers on , these are the biggest size you can get but bit bulky for my liking.

Thanks for the replies :thumbup just need a pillion seat if anyone has one for sale? I lent a mate a tailpack about 10 years ago and he says hes going to pop round with it so that may do for luggage.

Just a word of warning mate , the mille is a tall bike and its a challenge getting on and off with a tail pack as I found out last weekend .

okay another question along the same lines... im going to the bull dog bash with my missus on the bike, its over a 3 day weekend so camping is a must...how am i going to do this with a pillion? unless she can fit somewhere in the middle of those panniers?

I have an Oxford Tail Pack i strap onto the Pillion Seat. Its quite versatile as You can also use it as a Rucksack, or buy an attachment to use it as a TankBag.
So if You've got panniers, a TankBag & shes got a Rucksack You might be ok?!

lol ye she kindly bought me a magnetic tank bag for my bday lol so ill have to find a way of strapping it to the tank, and ill have to but panniers...think itl work out just wasnt sure of how much room shed have on the seat with the panniers..

I toured the North West of Scotland two up on my 2000 RSV, used Oxford Sports panniers. The missus found it reasonably comfortable. I had a good few pics of the bike fully laden but can't find them at the moment, this is the only one I have just now :-
