A strange thing happened today. (Short version)

I have never had any problems starting the engine before, but today it happened!

I could hear the pump humming and the engine turned just fine, but there was no ignition. Battery was fine, at least for a while, but eventually I had to use jumper cables. It still wouldnt start.

Took the seat off and looked around, checked fuses and so on, and then the fallsensor got all of my attention. My guess is that it should sound like a rattle when moved around, but it sounded like if there was more than one thing moving around in there, so I figured it might be broken.

I tried starting with the sensor disconnected but it wouldnt start. The text "no start" appears after a few secs.
I then bridged the connector on the harness. When attempting to start I did get spark, and the engine sort of started for a second or two. After that I didnt get any more ignition!

By now the smell of gasoline is pretty evident that the engine is soaked, so I leave the bike for half an hour or so, to let it dry out.

Tried to start- no luck "no start"
Removed my previously installed bridge, and now the thing starts!. But now the text "EFI" starts flashing after some seconds!
I now reconnect the fallsensor, and the engine starts and run just fine! Everything works perfect!

What the heck was the problem today ?:dunno

The bike wont start with just a bridge across the connector. There is a resistor built inside the tip over sensor. If the resistor is disconnected, the ecu thinks the tip sensor is faulty and wont start the bike.

What would happen if the "neutral Gear switch" or the "stand switch" didn't give the right signal? Would the engine turn without spark when trying to start?, or wouldn't it turn at all?

The neutral and clutch switches are part of the bikes safety circuit. The bike wont turn over if the bike is in gear and the clutch is engaged.
The stand switch cuts the ignition if you select a gear when the stand is down.

Ok,thanks
Are these switches known to cause any problems on the T?

Oh yes.My clutch switch has come adrift twice and its a 2010 bike. The stand switch can get moisture in there and corrode. The tip over switch can cause some problems too.
