hi just been on the af1 forum, read a post about a swingarm recall on o4 rsvr something to do with two bolt holes, one my cause stress fractures, can any one shed some light on this for me, my swingarm has the two bolt holes like the bad one but mine is a 05.:confused

Go to aprilia dealer,he'll check your frame number to see if its been done or needs it

Hi mate,

mines an 05 RSV, my brother bought it from new back in the day and he had to take it back to aprilia during the recall, it was swapped for the updated version. They said it was because those holes caused weak points within the structure and resulted in the chance of a fracture occurring, I would get def get in touch with your local dealer and see what they say.

i had this problem, and when i contacted the dealership who sold the bike to the previous owner. They said they had already put in a claim with aprilia for the swingarm? i said yeah but the dodgy one is still on the bike! apparantly he never took it back to have it swopped. i just kindly informed then then that my shiny brand new swingarm will be in a corner in their stockroom somewhere. much to the disappointment at the own expense they had to order me one from Italy and ship is up to the rockett centre in blackburn and pay their labour cost to fit it! in other words don't be fobbed off.
