I have attached two photos in hopes of assisting owners of '04 RSVR, and RSVR Factory models who are unsure if their bike has already had it's swingarm repalced.

The bad swingarms have two rivnuts installed on the inside of the chain side of the swingarm.

The good swingarms have only one. Because of the location of the toe guard bracket it can be difficult to see if the second rivnut is present, but you should be able to tell without any dissassembly.

So is a friend here in New Zealand , he has a Jap import 04 Factory & the Aprilia dealers don't want to help much as it wasn't a NZ new brought bike > so he is still waiting & looks like he'll get his at the very end , poor Bugger !!!:O

Thanks for posting up this info PJ,got round to checking mine the other day and its ok, Has anyone found that they have the faulty type swingarm...?

Has anyone out there had a look and found there's to be faulty,if so have you managed to get it replaced...?

Carpe, I have an early 04 (53 Plate) and the swing arm hasn't been recalled or replaced to date. Possibly as I'm the 3rd owner and the call in paperwork has been binned by the 1st owner. Haven't had problems to date but defo want it changing.

Had bit of a fight with aprilia, as they say a local dealer has claimed for it, but it physically hasn't been changed. The so called ''local dealer'' are tryin to now chase it for me (alledgely), but think Tony at Southern Cross has possibly come up trumps and may have sorted me one out. If so will get Don and Andy to fit it.

Keep ya posted mate

I've contacted one moth ago by my dealer for replacing the swing arm which it's being done today... I'll check if the reason is because of the rivnuts.

Tks for the info!

I've been called one month ago by my dealer for replacing the swingarm which I suppose it's being done tomorrow. I'll check when picking the bike if it's because of the rivnuts.:O

many tks for the info!

got my 04 rsv 2 months ago, the guy a brought it from told me all about the recall.

the bike had a new swingarm fitted begining of last year and i have the certificate to proof it :thumbup

Is my local Aprilia dealer just w**k or is it normal after you have been sent a swingarm recall letter to wait 6 months and still no sign of the swingarm. Everytime I ring or call in they say its on order and they will call me as soon as they get one in. They are waiting for 7 other swingarms also. Should i try somewhere else or is this the norm. (slightly worried as this is obviously a safety issue):dunno
