just wondering if anyone knows if i need a special tool or socket to get the swing arm of the main frame, and if so, what it is i need, any ebay links would be great.

Cheers

Nooo don't spend £20 on the Aprilia swingarm tool!!!! One of these works just as well. You'll also need a 14mm (I think) hex driver for the pivot bolt itself but a car drain bolt key works for that ;). I didn't have to loosen the engine mounting bolts when I swapped my arm.

Thats great Rich, i will also be swapping my arm for a tidier one soon. Any other tips/important points? Im only swapping the arm itself so all my rear shock linkage etc will be fitted to the replacement arm. Thanks in advance

Only other thing that caused me problems was one of the rear downpipe 13mm retaining nuts. You can't get straight onto it as the downpipe itself is in the way. I had to phone a mate as none of my socket sets would do it. Luckily he had a 13mm Snap-on swivel socket head spanner that did the job.
