sweet thanks for that, been thinking of doing an upgrade as my mate just slung his factory down the road, mainly cosmetic, however hes said i can nab his ohlins and replace them with my stock v4r forks and shock and pay him £500
so guess what im doing to night lol
Before I removed the shock I read up on it and a lot of peeps were saying that the tail section, battery, undertray has to come off so that you can pull the shock straight up.
Well that's one way, but damn time consuming.
This is what I did.
When you are replacing the shock I jacked up the rear, took off right side rearset, loosened top and bottom bolts, had a friend hold the rear wheel and jiggle it up and down slightly so the I could pull the bolts out then lower the swingarm as far as you can and the shock will come out upwards with a slight rotation past where the rearset was.
When I was installing the K-tech shock I found it easier to disconnect the dog bone at the engine end and swing it down out of the way. That gave me a little more room and movement to wriggle the new shock into place.
i pushed the top bolt through first, then lined up the dogbone with the aid of my mate lifting the swingarm, refitted that bolt, then the bottom shock bolt.
Hope that helps :thumbup
Forks were a piece of piss, removed steering damper, front wheel and mudguard and that was it.
Don't forget the speed sensor on the lower right fork too.
