Stone chips on the tail

Was cleaning down the Tuono Sunday following a good couple of sessions of razzing around with a massive smile on my face and noticed that I had a couple of small chips in the silver/mirror finish section of the tail. I'm assuming that this is caused by small stones being kicked up by the rear tyre.

Anyone else seeing this?

I did think about getting some venture shield (or similar) to cover the rear.

Funny you should say because sometimes i get off the bike there seems to be the odd stone on the seat as if the tyre is flicking them up and then hitting me in the back and coming to rest by my arse , **** knows how but the small tail tidy might be the cause , and sticky tyres !!!

Yeah few marks on the back of mine and often stones on my seat after a ride out. Don't think there is much can be done, except replacing/repainting when gets older.

I bought a load of this stuff (helicopter tape) to protect the paint as takes a battering on track:

Helicopter Bike Frame Protection Tape Film Vinyl "Ultra Thick Triple Layer" | eBay

I bought a sheet of it about 30cm wide.

Ahhh, that looks pretty useful. Just bought a 300mm sheet now for Â£2 to give it a go. Did you use a slipping agent or just apply?

I just used a vinyl application tool, but water and fairy liquid work too.
