Guys and gals (I hope my fantasy of a girl in leather on the back of a tuono isn't a pipe dream),

New to the site and have a question about E10 (or any other ethanol blend for that matter). I got stuck out on the road during a ride and had to put E10 in the bike to make it home. Anyone have any info if this is going to effect my bike (besides making it run sluggish like my buddy's monster)?

I have not used any ethanol blended fuel. I have heard that it may cause problems with the resins used in our f/g tanks.

If E10 = 10% Ethonal then no worries. The whole of the US pretty much is on 10% E and bikes run ok. It will lean out your mixture a tad if you haven't got an FI system with O2 sensors. On my TLS I had to richen up just a little with the PCII to get the performance back, but no difference other than that.

BTW my wife's Lean-burn civic gets 10% worse mileage on E10:banghead

shouldn't be an issue, beyond the mentioned rougher running. E85 is a different story.

Thanks fellas - she wasn't running quite as nice and from what I know it's probalby due to the lower power developed by the E. Out here in Portland OR (where the roads are twisty 5 miles outside of town) there is still plenty of real gas so it's not a huge issue.

Wow, I haven't seen real gas in over a year, and I rode though most states from the CD east:laugh

you can get virtually all the performance back with a remap. Expect fuel mileage to decrease by nearly the same % as the E rating.

Sucks all round IMO.:banghead:banghead:banghead
