Not me my bike, right lads does anyone know if lack of oil pressure can make the bike show neutrals in any gear ie jump out of gear into neutral then back again in a split second ,for the last couple of days my bike has been playing up ,i think the oil is defo low but am hoping nothing else major ,has the bike senors to tell when the oil pressure is low if so will thes cut power or even stall bike to protect it????any help would be appreciated and Shane m8 defo not the pc3 or quickshifter as disconnected and still happens bummer

is the simple answer, your engine will run with all the oil drained.

oil level could effect gear changes it would have to be very low though a dry gear box will not makeclean changes.

The drive cuts for a split second and at the same time the neutral light flickers ,and when it konked out the warning triangle came on ,when i turn ignition on the warning triangle plus oil light stays on until started. Could there be a problem with the gearbox?
 
Cmon lads are you telling me that none of you gentlemen oot there have no ideas wot it could be:dunno or at least point me in the right direction:thumbup:biggrin
 
al right m8 a no u said it isnt to do wae the quick shifter but wae the sounds of things i think it is m8
 
Not oil related i can pretty much 100% say that. You have an oil light until it starts because it has no oil pressure when the engine isn't running and it's an oil pressure warning not oil level.

It's electrics or gearbox issue for sure.
 
either that or the tip over sensor sorry if u have already cheked m8 ,but i am just trying to think of the obvious first
 
if your drive cuts for a split second it must be something to do wae your qwuick shifter wireing m8
 
Hi lads cheers for the input, Mac m8 one of the first things i checked was the quickshifter i unplugged it from the pc3 before going out and these things were still happening,,the tip over sensor would that flash the neutral light? this fact alone makes me think along the same lines as spoonz gearbox or dash but would the dash cause that if there was a short in the dash could that cause the bike to lose power ? and the gearbox could it be jumping in and out of gear? surley must be electrical as if gearbox it would jump out but not back into gear?
 
i would say its defo electrical, could just have a wire somewhere thats been rubbing on something now its shorting out now and then its happened to me before on old bikes.
 
bit of a long shot,but I had a similar problem,it turned out that the neg lead on the battery was ever so slightly loose,
once tightened it was fine,might be worth a looky..
 
Cheers Pat will check that but i'm starting to get a sneeky feeling its something serious in the gearbox......
 
hi bryan mate can you push your bike in neutral with no dragging is it free and easy ? if your gearbox was very very low your gear will get very hot and where the gear runs on the mainshaft could start picking up metal from either your gear or your shaft this would cause it to want to drive in neutral and make it stiff to push ,not to shure about your warning light though .i would drain all the oil and see how much you have and if it smells burnt ,if its black and burnt you got a problem mate , hope you get sorted soon bud ready for the next scottish-ride-oot mate .oh did i tell you what my trade was ? im a gearbox builder mate lol but ive never done a bike box before :(
 
Well m8 theres always a first time lol i'm takin the bike to a friend who's an auto spark then i'll know if its electrical or mechanical,had a call from the guys at saltire suzuki and they said they would check the bike over and let me know what was wrong for nowt ive spoken to them a few times and feel they always go out their way to help not like my local guys ,the only problem wi that is they might try and sell me a gixer .........Defo up for another ride oot but might have to get a shot oh ma pals thundercat.....thundercats ho,,,,,,,,
