Been trying to turn my idle up but the adjuster is stuck. The workshop manual us about as much use as a chocolate teapot, can anyone give me any advice before I start taking thing apart to work it out?

What part gets the rust in? I've had the tank up and the adjuster is running free, it seems to be something internal thats not moving

If it's turning freely then it's possible the cable has snapped or become detached from the throttle plate.

Sometimes they sieze up and when you force it the cable breaks.

Sorry wrong choice of words, its not turning free its still attached to something but whatever its attached to is stuck. The knob its self is not stuck though.

The adjuster screws into the mounting plate , the more you turn it the more it travels in & ends up pushing the idel speed up , check that it is far enough in that it is hitting the idle plate so it will move it . If all sweet check the linkage from the throttle cam to the idle screw is free & moving or even the idle stop lock nut hasn't moved & is stopping the idle adjuster from doing its job .
