I have tried a set of zx10r style stick coils, the fit was not good.I ended up cutting and chopping bits off to get them to fit and they looked **** when finished. The difference was not at all noticeable in terms of starting or performance. Project was shelved while looking at other things that might gain more power.
As far as higher voltages go yes 35000 volts for a really good set of coils but then you loose some to the leads, stick coils (ZX10R sticks are reputed to be 41000 volts+) no loss due to leads but you might have to run a colder plug. If I could I would still do it but would spend more time looking for a better match.
