Guys, What tool to I need to get the top yoke steering stem nut off my 2000 RSV Mille R?

It has lots of small holes what looks like a 15mm allen key?...Lofty

its just a massive allen key m8 - checked the service manual again for ya to be sure

Thanks guys, I have just been out and got one......it wont move though!! Should it be this tight?

Mine was really tight too. In the end I had to take the tank off and use a 14mm hex in a socket with a breaker bar. I stood on the rear paddock stand and used my 17 stone of love and it still would not shift. In the end I had to gently tap the breaker bar with a hammer to get it to move.

yep 14 mm and 14.5 stone of blubber to shift mine , loosened up ok, were absolutely buggered after and probably a long time before 23000 miles

Yep just used a rubber mallet on mine, and off she came.

Straight onto the next problem!!

I am trying to un-bolt the key ignition switch as I am changing the top yoke over. There is one normal bolt and another without a head on it.

Is it some sort of security bolt, and if so how the hell do I get that undone???

Lofty

You can use a Dremel to make a slot in the security bolt to remove it with a screwdriver.

I just gave mine a tap with a centre punch & hammer on the angle & it came undone, not very tight :dunno
