hi guys, I bought a steering damper off ebay that the guy had fitted to a tuono, so i fired the question if it had everything necessary to fit to my 05 rsvr and he said yes. It arrived today and I can't for the life of me see how it would fit, the instructions only cover replacing a damper so does that mean i'm missing a mount or something?? If thats the case where would I get one from??

many thanks

there are no brackets for the stering dampers if you look on the frame on the head stock there is the first mounting point for the body of the damper (best to look with the nose fairing off)

also there are 2 mounting points on the bottom yoke too on on the left and one on the right for the push rod

think there held in place with 6mm bolts

ah sweet so its not a top mounted effort then i take it! can you adjust it with the fairing etc on if i manage to get it bashed on?

no its a bottom mount damper pity really as it would look better on show

you can adjust it with all the fairing on no problem

happy days, without sounding like a total muppet whats my head stock?

is there a guide on here or somewhere i can find out how to remove the front fairing??

head stock is right at the front of the bike between the top and bottom fork yokes

when i fitted my arrow damper to my 06 rsvr all i had to remove was the half circle plastic thing on the bottom yoke which is held in place with 3 bolts

once thats out the way you can just see and feel where the mounting points are

only reason i said remove the front fairing was so you could see it all really clear
