:) picking up my new (well new to me) rsv tomorrow. cant wait :)

Its a totally standard 2003 one (old shape) and i have managed to get a steering damper of ebay from a year 2000 model i plan to fit straight away.

some people may say it does not need one but for the £16.01 i paid for it i may as well put it on.

ive been told it will fit but is there anything i should look out for while putting it on, also other than a smooth action of the damper (bench test) should i be looking for anything on the damper itself.

if possible has anyone got a pic of one fitted, ive been told it go's behind the light unit.

Got one fitted on mine and yes it goes down behind the light unit there are mounting holes down there you've just got to find them should be able to put a pic on for you tomorrow

from some info on the net i think its a optional extra from aprilia when the bike is new,

its a sachs boge damper or something sounding like that.

its arrived today and it looks in really good condition, also spoken to the bike shop im getting the rsv from and they said they would advise me in installing it.

To be honest mick since i've fitted mine i've found the handling a lot better at faster speeds especially the things like when you go over a white line and get a bit of a wobble but since i fitted the damper i've had none of that...
