Hi,happy new year to ye all!I bought a MY06 RSVR last month and I'm wondering does the stator frying issues that the 04+ models are prone to affect the 06 model?surely Aprilia have sorted this by now?I haven't had too much time on my pride and joy yet thanks to Irish weather but I'm looking forward to a fun summer with maybe a trip to the TT races in the Isle of Man and I wan't to be prepared for any problems that might arise, hope someone can help:thumbup

There was a recent thread on this issue and I asked the same question. Apparently it is still present on the later bikes. Mine is still under warranty so I had a look under the offside fairing panel at the brown connector that melts and all appeared well.

As it's under warranty I decided not to replace the connector in case there ever is an issue and Aprilia claim that my repair actually caused the problem. Did unplug, clean and thoroughly WD40 it though! Just to ensure a good connection.

Rusty, my road bike is an 06 and on checking it when i bought it, the wires were showing signs of heat, i cut out the block connector and hardwired it, the 06 has only one connector whereas the earlier 04 ones had two, it's an easy job and well worth the time to do it.:biggrin

what exactly is th problem with the stator frying??I have never heard of this one..as I have an 04/5 Factory wouldnt mind knowing?
