Starter cable length

Hullo!

I have a Gen 1 mille 01 model and I have but one question...does anyone know the length of the starter cable? The one from the solenoid to the starter motor. And also the length of the frame to engine (rear cylinder) ground wire?
I’m having some cables made up and I can’t find the lengths anywhere. I know I can measure them when they are off the bike but I am using it daily.
Any info greatly appreciated

Many thanks in advance

I cant answer your question regarding cable length because i bought a pre made cable from ebay for £17 delivered. Why make one when a pre made one is so cheap? At a guess though it is about 900m long so 1m of wire will be enough.

Suggest you leave the old cable in place but use it as a new negative from one of the starter mounting bolts to the battery.

Also, i would change the starter solanoid and put a new cable from the battery to the solanoid.

The two smaller cables from the 30A fuse i would terminate directly to the battery. Then any issues with starting or flakey dash should be gone.

Hi mate,
Sorry for not replying. I have moved jobs and house and all that jazz. I just had a look at the forum and saw you had replied. Thanks for the advice. I had some cables made up from a place in Bristol for pennies, I had already done the other mods you suggested and had still been suffering! The new cables and cleaned up earth solved it but a new battery (even though the old motobatt one wasn’t old) I put on a yuasa in the end but still get the goofy clock reset every now and again. But hey…just got to sort the headlight and weird humming tyres and blah, blah, blah…
