Hey up chaps,

Whats the standard gearing on a 2001 RSV-R? I keep finding 16-40 but not sure if thats RSV or RSV-R.

Reason I ask is that my bike which I've only had a few weeks, has a 45 tooth rear sprocket. Goes like sh*t off a shovel like! I had a 15 tooth front sprocket on my Falco which made it infinitely better at slow speeds and my RSV-R feels like it needs the same however, with a 45 tooth rear it might do everywhere on one wheel!

Whatcha reckon?

Bigun.

Standard is 17/42, most people use 15/42 or 16/44 which gives about the same ratio. I have the last one and I like it :)

Stock chain is 108 links long, for 16/44 you need a 110 link chain.

Yup 17/42...I've now got a 15 on the front & want a 44 on the rear when I change the chain!! It just makes the bike 'jump' down the road!!
