looks standard to me too, and it weighs a ton, i got it out for an mot on this saturday coming & remebered an advisory on the last mot about the exhuast so looked for the ce mark. it does not have one?? bit confused & a little bit worried as i can't really afford to buy another can.

Hi,

My standard can has no CE mark but just has some blurb at the side of the Aprilia racing etching to the effect of 'motorcyle noise emission system and 80 dBA'.

I shouldn't worry about passing the MOT with the std. box in place

Cheers

mate, when my bike went for an mot earlier this year, i had my renegade race can on it. The can itself doesnt have a ce mark or not for road use stamped on it, but still passed the mot. so I would say that if it dont say not for road use, then it is useable for the road, whether its the standard can or not :thumbup:devious:biggrin

it depends on the m.o.t station's discretion mine passed mot with out the baffle from were i bought the bike but i know my local place would not pass it so the standard can wil have to go back on

guess i will find out on saturday, but i do know that they have passed it once so if they get funny i'll show them that pass advisory & hopefully they will let it go

As far as I am aware, there is no requirement for a CE mark (or any markings) on a can for it to pass an MOT. When was the last time your bike was run when it was MOT'd?

As long as the can is securely mounted, that is all that matters.

phew, it passed :thumbup & with only 2 advisory notes, number plate size & chain & rear sprocket wear. I can live with advisory notes

an MOT doe not need an CE mark. If your test centre says it does then go somewhere else...
it cannot have stamped on it "not for road use"
the rest is down to discretion of wehter or not its deemed too loud...
the same also goes now for the LAW. they CANNOT do you for not having an E marked exhaust, they can however say that your exhaust is too loud thus causing polution to the enviroment = £30 fine.
most dealers will pass your MOT if you just take your standard can with you, so you don't even need to change from your race can...

seriously pal go somewhere else
