anyone ever experience stalling, especially at low rpm/speeds? happened a few times on a brand new v4, no particular/abnormal conditions.

are you having the egine cut out with clutch pulled?
or not giving it enough revs getting off the line due to the standard 1st gear being so tall you have to slip the clutch(quite a lot)

YES!!

Mine is about 3 months old and stalls EVERY time I first start her up. I let the engine warm up to about 40oC then as soon as I touch the throttle it stalls. It's stalled on me approaching junctions and even entering roundabouts.

The fueling is horrendous, you can't hold a constant throttle anywhere from low to high revs, it constantly 'snatches' and is driving me mad.

I've taken it back to InMoto in Croydon 3 times now, the latest only yesterday. I've now told them that I've had enough and if it's not sorted I'll be looking at giving it back for a refund.

Gutted as I love the sound, but at the moment I'd rather just go back to my Gixxer 1000, reliable and dependable.

Fuel economy on the Tuono is also a joke, 81 miles before the light comes on, meaning not even 100 to a tank. I ride no where near how I did on the Gixxer either and on that I could get, at worse, 120 to a tank on a track day!

Not impressed.

Something foes not sound right with the bike at all, lets hope an RSV4 map or something was not put in, certainly needs the throttle and handling learning doing again.

While I hate for you to throw good money after bad, I sent my ECU to Gabro in Italy, the throttle was loads better after it returned and a semi custom map, (its a better version of the race ECU).

I would ask them to try an ECU from another bike, or buy a spare ECU.

That a shame. Two new bikes stalling? Have you seen the post on here from shot gun about throttle cables?

Also what is is ticking over at? Is that too low???

Dan - what courier did you use to send ECU to Gabro. Obviously I'm a bit nervous sending to Italy ...

El Liamo, Ive just had my ECU and Clocks back from Gabro. I used Royal Mail to send it over and I think Gabro used Italian Mail to return. No problems either way. :thumbup

thanks Robbie - I've had a few items go missing with Royal Mail. One was a nose code for an old CBR few years back...that's a big box to lose!!! hence my fear.

but then if everyone else has been fine going to anf fro from Italy and it is winter...

I used royal fail tracked :thumbup

Anything bigger I use parcel monkey or parcels 2 go. Gabro is a stand up guy.

Hi arilia, here are my suggestion for a fix:

1. Check the current Map. if its the lastest, try to downgrade 1 version, if not then upgrade 1 version.

2. Send for throttle body balancing.

look for a service center that has P.A.D.S (Paggio Aprilia Diagnostic System) they should be able to fully diagnose the issue

thx, and to all for the posts. took in for the break-in service, seems to have eradicated stalling. dealer is quite on top of it, thinks it may've just been a fickle issue with being new.
