Does anybody know where I can get two rocker cover gaskets from before next Wednesday ??

Both of mine are leaking a reasonable amount, also whats the best way to clean the mess up with ?.

Degreaser & Hose pipe ....................

I usually use parafin or WD40 for cleaning engines, Wd's best as it leaves a protective film. ( smokes & smells strange till it burns off tho)

I would try http://www.1st-kickstart.co.uk/home.html for gaskets & parts as I've had excellent service and next day postage from them :thumbup:thumbup

hi.i orderd a engine gasket for my 05 rsv from Parts unlimited of which i found on the net through Google and it was here the next day hope this helps !

Right well I stripped the body work & tank off of Frankie today , my intention was to replace both rocker cover gaskets.
The rear cylinder was easy and for safety I used a light coating of blue hylomar on both sides.
The front cylinder is an absolute arse to get the rocker cover off, in the end I took the injectors off , the front exhaust protector and the horn just to get at the front rocker cover bolt and the left front (when on the bike) bolt .......still took over an hour.
What ******* son of a designer cooked that idea up ?

Ahh, now that would be Luigi, he was also responsible for re-designing a perfectly good indicator switch so making it hard to use.

I believe he harboured a grudge as he also refused to grease the rear suspension linkage on assembly , and the brown connector saga has his fingerprints all over it as well.

I heard last week from someone suposedly in the know, that Aprilia was actually run by the Mafia as a sort of money laundering operation at one time.

Luigi was probably someones unloved spotty relative that had to be given the job as he was ' family'

Power washing the oil off every Sunday does NOT constitute "doing mine in 10 minutes", but I will agree that its easier for you ........................being the size of a dwarf you look the rocker covers in the eye :doug:nana

Not in the mood for slagging of people tonight, too tired!!

But you're so gonna get a verbal bashing on Saturday night once I've had a few glasses of lubricant.

scott, gonna do my rear rocker cover gasker tomorrow! Not going to try and do the front after your reports!! hopefully it will go ok. where would be a good place to get some blue hylomar from?

I've got some :devious, Youll be fine mate.

My rear gasket was shot truth be told so I used the hylomar to glue the gasket to the cylinder head and then a generous amount between cylinder head and gasket.

Any decent car accessory shop should have it, its a gasket compound.
