Hi to all again..

Was just going thru my service shedules and reciepts and stuff

On one of the service reciepts, it has a bill for x2 Sprockets

Rear one 40t and front 16t. My bike 05 RSVR FACTORY

Are these the standard size...?

Also my bike only has done 6k, has anyone had any sprocket problems etc...

Or he could could have had em replaced for other reasons....who knows..In fact if they are standard ones why would they have both been changed and if they arnt standard ones should I change them back etc???

Can anyone shed any light??

Cheers..:O

yes, they're standard (for a gear ratio of 2.5)
I think that 6k are few mileage for this (it last about 20k or even more)

They are standard on that model, it may be they changed the chain and put new sprockets on at same time as is advisable, i would not worry about it, what i would do though is put a smaller one 15T on the front at the very least, this will improve the bike no end, i run 15/3 on mine on the road:thumbup

Thanks all, thats put my mind at rest...

What effect exactly would the 15tooth have??

Hey badger you were robbed:thumbup

Nah, not at all mate, i am chuffed the way my bike has turned out after a lot of bloody hard work on it, booked in along with my new track bike for some dyno time in early January, ready for ripping up some tarmac next year, thanks for your vote though bud:biggrin

let us know how the dyno goes:thumbup it looks great mate:thumbup

Bikes are over geared, it will give you better drive/acceleration and will make the bike smoother to ride spesh in town, you will also have a bigger smile:biggrin, cheap mod with best VFM results:thumbup

:thumbup Cheers mate..might just give it a whirl...

over geared??

Yes, overgeared straight from the factory, lowering the gearing is a common mod and very effective at giving you better acceleration with a bit of top speed loss, a cheap modification with great results, also easy to do:biggrin

My track bike will be running 15/46 or even 15/47

ok, ok...so which sprokets do you recommend for my mille'05, 15/46 - 15/47??

One less on front and two up on the rear for road use, that is 16/44 you need, gearing on yours is 17/42 as standard:biggrin
