Whats the symptoms of a failing sprag clutch ? My mate ( he's not a member of RSV zone!) has a 1999 millie (38000 miles) which some times "jams" on starting and will only go if he rocks the bike in gear when it does ( quite often there is a clunking noise as well), also the starter just spins some times(sounds like a drill running) It will also only start if the battery has a full charge if its a volt or so down it wont start! He has had a rectifier problem , the brown connector had shorted out I have sorted that for him (bridged the wires) and his battery is now charging ok. I think his sprag cluch is on the way out proberly because of the low battery voltage caused by the faulty brown connector ( his bike has for a while been starting ok after being on trickle charge ,but been a pain to start after a ride) Am I on the right track? does that sound like a fooked sprag?
