speedo not working

Hi reciently i have fitted some wavey discs to my 09 rsv Factory, much to my suprise yesterday the speedo wouldnt work or the mileometer for that matter??
What have i done to it??
all i have done is swap discs and bolts?
Any ideas are greatly recieved

Hi Ant,

Welcome to the forum mate.

If you have changed the bolts, that is more than likely your problem. What bolts have you used, they can't be aluminium or titanium as the sensor uses a magnet to pick up the bolts. Idealy they need to be stainles steel, hope this helps.

Hi Mark,
i have changed the bolts for stainless ones but i will put back the original ones in a bit and see if that changes anything i thought perhapts this might be the case as it the only thing that i have done away with

Are the heads on the new bolts flat, or are they an allen head bolt? Also are the heads shallower(further away from the sensor)?

i had replaced the original ones with dome head allen bolts, but have just changed two and the speedo sort of works now i think that was the problem though,
but now i am faced with three that are mullard, will need to get them drilled out before i change them ffs,cheap crappy dome allen bolts but i think we are good to go now....happy camper
Note to all DON'T USE CHEAP DOME ALLEN BOLTS ON DISCS'
