Well my speed sensors packed up propper since I butchered it to have a look inside its Rusty Guts (It was unmarked from the outside :( )

Question is :- These seem to be fragile enough without buying one that has been on a bike before I own it !.

I chappy from Fleabay offered me one for 30 Snots all in, Is it REALLY worth it or will I be buying another soon :(

Do we have a good Source of New Ones ?

I bought a brand new one from "speedaway" , arrived in 3 days.
I also took the connector off the end and slid a piece of adhesive lined heatshrink tube over the sensor end. It should now be impervious to crap getting in there.

Sounds like a plan, the sensor body looked perfect but inside it was a mess

I wouldn't have bought a cheap second hand one unless it was under a tenner, as like you said, you dont know their history, and from the outside they look fine.

I bought mine for new for £40 plus £3 p&p from d&k spares on ebay, with a buy it now.

Strange thing was, the second hand one on there at the same time had bids on it for more than £43. WTF

Bought a second hand one from a crashed bike being broken £16 ebay, no probs, but since bought a new one (just in case) also ebay £28..

Usually collect bits and peices when they come up cheap enough, as you can always sell em on when/if you sell the bike..

Speedo sensor just needs a blob of silicone or heat shrink around where the wires go in to make it water proof..
