Spacing twin silencers

Hi there,

I asked this on AF1 and one guy suggested I loosen the headers and twist the whole system....which I haven't got around to trying, but I thought I'd ask here in case anyone has any further ideas, or experience....

Basically, have an Edwards Mille with twin Akra's and the (looking at it from rear) left silencer sits a lot further out than the right (probably 3 inches further out), whereas the right tucks in more neatly. Tried to twist the link pipes etc, but didn't really do it, it just raises one side up as it pushes it out.....and the only thing that helped was putting a couple of 1/2 " spacers between the right bracket and subframe, this pushed the back out maybe 1 1/2" by the time the angle reached the tip of the can. I didn't feel comfortable with this as I thought it may stress the joint to the headers.....

Don't mind if the left tucks in more, the right goes out, or the whole thing evens up, as long as they look straighter at the back.

Anyone sorted this issue? Or should I chill and just live with it, and accept it's the way it was designed.....:dunno:dunno

Would help if every bugger I come across didn't say "why are your exhausts offset then?"......:banghead:banghead

cheers guys, Rich

Rich i sorted mine within about 2 mins..... to get the spacing put one in the garage andf the other upstairs that way they will not fight and there is plenty of space.........

LMFAO, you want a single system anyway, less of the wheel barrow effect

Nobody really has an answer then?

Ah well, I'll have to try the AF1 suggestion as a single sided exhaust is not the way I want to go.

Cheers, Rich

Get a scaffold pole (short 2 foot) remove end can and insert pole into exhaust very little effort will enable you to bend the pipe in, sounds crude but did it on a mates TLR with fantastic results.:thumbup

yes i know it sounds like a complete last resort, but i did the exact same thing only on a Firestorm, i play with pipes for a job so maybe not as scary for me,only thing i will add is just be carefull near any welds, (if you want a weld to break it wont,if you dont want it to break it will) if you take it nice and easy you should be fine...:thumbup
