SP @ southern cross 10k

You know what......as nice and desirable as it is.........I dont like those red calipers, the exhausts or the vented side panels.:eatcorn

red calipers standard as per early milles..exhaust genuine sp ..check the link pipes ..2 seperate 1 to each cylinder..vented side panels ..were an optional extra from aprilia at the time i'm sure

you didn't notice the different wheels..

it all depends how you look at it..limited edition bike only 150 made so very rare £23000 NEW ...

one went on ebay not so long back.
it was immaculate about 3k miles on the clock. It was in scotland otherwise I would have gone and looked at it.
I think it sold for under £6k in the end.

Has this bike ever been reviewed/tested. Would love to see a write up from a mag somewhere?? Perhaps it was tested against a duc somewhere, any ideas??

sure it was somewhere in the depths of time

quite special

short stroke race motor etc etc

all been said before but

The 'SP' stands for Sports Production, and the Mille SP is little more than a race bike for the road. Despite looking almost identical to the RSV Mille, nearly every part is different. The engine has a different bore and stroke, giving a smaller 996cc capacity, to allow higher revs, and there is only one spark plug per cylinder to allow bigger valves. The frame is unique to the SP, with adjustable engine position, steering head angle and swingarm pivot, and 20 per cent stiffer. The fairing is made of lightweight carbon-fibre, and the Ohlins suspension is fully adjustable. The SP was built as a 'homologation' machine, to allow the firm to race in the World Superbike championship. It was a limited-edition bike, with only 150 produced
