All I want is a change of plugs and a oil, filter change for my 02 Mille.:dunno

Went to a pretty large KTM/Suzuki dealers in Maidstone last week and when I asked about getting a 'very' basic thing done I got this reply...

"we are not insured to work on those because when our mechanics break heads they have to pay for the parts from there own pockets..."
:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

THEN... His manger, who was nosing, said 'is the bike outside' I said yerp. They went outside to look, I saw him smile and shake his head. 'No... we do not touch those Italian things'

OKay my bike is not too clean and has London war wounds but hey...

I asked him to repeat it, thinking he would laugh... you know, I thought it was fantastic dead pan humor. No joke.
I used to be a mechanic, I know whats what. I know its a big dealership and they are expensive and sometimes very stupid. I had no time to do the work and no garage... waste oil blah blah...

ANY ONE LIVE IN KENT AND KNOW WHERE I CAN GET THIS DONE..?

I ride into London alot so can find a GOOD Aprilia pad there as long as I get a bike to ride for the day.

what a twonk. changing plugs requires a bit of finger dexterity but little else.
not exactly something they can mess up if they are anywhere near competent.

Their loss. Got to Southern cross or I think there is a dealer in East Grinstead which isn't a million miles from you.

I would do it for free if you care to ride to Devon

flick - seriously mate have a go yourself - its very satisfying doing little jobs youyrself that take no real tools just a bit of patience and skill

best place for you is probably moto bowen, aprilia dealer in chatam. was that lagunas you went to?

I love the way he said "when our mechanics" :laugh Not if or rarely, just when! With comments like that, I wouldn't take a skateboard there.

What a grade A *******, and what a way to show confidence in the mechanics working for him :jack

Good luck with finding somewhere Flick. Certainly from everything everybody says on here, i'd be getting yourself off to Southern Cross :thumbup

Thanks boyz... off to Southern Cross then. :thumbup

Agreat1 I would do it myself but I cant be arsed and have lots of cash... :pirate
This is my 'company bike' my personal tool that I spin the snap-ons over is my recently purchased 06 Tuono... bought from a salvage yard and in need of some luvin:inlove

Sorry to read this, and got to say, this sucks, if you were a mechanic and knew certain parts on certain bikes were prone to failure, would you want to touch them if coming out of your pocket..

Think you need to find a decent dealer who can not only do the job, but not have stupid rules that scares people from doing their job properly..Only in England!

What a joke :jack a bikes a bike, what do they think is under the aprilia fairing magic crystals???.i use a small bike shop in Dartford to do all the jobs i cant do.its called D&H Motorcycles, its run by two old fellas and their work is top notch and realy well priced.it dont look much, but like i said their work is very good. their number is 01322293145. :thumbup :thumbup

Hay Flick, PM RS3mille he will do it for ya mate, im like you cant be arsed to do me own so always take it to him, cheaper than a garage and i know he does a proper job as he is one of them dirty mechanics :thumbup:thumbup

If yer need to part with some of that loads of spare cash mate..i'll PM yer my Post Office Box if yer want ... :doug

Flick, name and shame mate.

I'm willing to bet it was Laguna M/C's, it's the only KTM/Suzuki dealer in maidstone as far as I know & their service dept isn't the most helpfull:jack. In their defence tho, they do some bloody good deals on dainese leathers, bought my last 2 sets from them.:devious

Yes..But will they repair them if the leg falls off? :dowhat

Caterpiller nailed it. The service advisor and manager are first rate A**HOLES!:rant:rant These types don't understand that you may have more than one bike or that you may have friends who you might steer in their direction.... OR NOT!! A jerk is a jerk. :jack:jack What a spectacular lack of trust in the ability of their mechanics and technicians.
