sorry another tyre thread

£12.50 at motorcycle mart kidderminster to loose wheel dispose of old tyre yourself ,council tip 1/2 mile up the road. i thought it was 190 /50 or 180/55 for our bikes

Sounds like a reasonable charge for fitting

The tyre on the link is 190 x 50 same as I have on now

If I can get it for £65 think its worth a pop

I think I might bid on it too ...

Infact, to help Mike we should all bid on it. :crazy

Newelly

You are always just too kind but on this occasion your help as support will not be required

So sod off and keep away from my new tyre

PS having watched you almost get round a right hander maybe your need is greater than mine

Thats what ive just had fitted to mine mike front and back £190 in demontweeks to loose wheels

He probably rides much quicker than I ever need to

miles per tyre counts for me so long as the tyre is as good as I need - I can't afford to replace tyres after 1k to 2k or so

The bike was supplied with sportmax and I don't ride well enough to push either to their limits

I think everyone has their favourites

5300 miles, fer fecks sake, mine back tyre is lucky to last 2000 & I dont even do track days.

Maybe its my super powerful back brake thats wearing it down.

I prolly need a new rear soon. thinking of going 180/55 or 190/55 better turning profile than the stock 190/55

just got a 180 /55 on mine as well. noticed when l put the wheel back on and dropped it off the stand that the rear comes up really slow is this the shock or could the linkages be seizing, its got a sachs shock off a rsv not the normal one thats fitted to the gen 2 tuonos the chap i bought the bike off changed it and sold the original one .think i will have to call griff to sort it for me

Try backing the rebound adjuster off, if that doesn't do anything it will more than likely be the suspension linkages that need some grease.
Either way, Griff is your man.:thumbup

I had a 190 on mine when I got the bike (gen1) but I put a 180 on last time and it does turn in easier, I have Michelin Pilot CT2's on it at the moment, they're a bit skittish in the wet, to the point of me having no confidence in them in the rain, so I won't replace like for like, I may try Pirrelli next time round :dunno (It will more than likely be sooner than later and they're only half way down)

I have a rear sportmax on my bike at the mo and slide around a bit on Sunday. Every one else did a bit too as road greasier than a vasalined probe...

Rode to work in wet this morning and sliped around again...after all this rain had hoped roads would be clean. Tyres great in the dry, but yet o be convinced in wet - just my observation, and i'm slightly weedy with bike jiggling underneath me....

Got 190 on both me tuo and 52/s/triple dont know any different, sp/smart on tuo seems, brill in all weathers but there is a lot of greasy stuff lifting out of roads lately in the rain.
