I've had a bit of a search but not come up with anything, apologies if I haven't looked hard enough.
I've seen the hooked airbox thread and the gains look very impressive, does anybody know whether the dyno comparison was with a standard or derestricted airbox? I derestricted my 01 mille a couple of weeks ago and could definately feel the difference, does the hook box give the same again?
I've also got an 07 Tuono (the mille was bought as a track bike) is the airbox restricted in the same way?

Yes, it will give you a gain all through the midrange. Not very much at top end but then you don't use that bit too much on the road. Do a search for dyno results on this site and you should come accross some good comparisons. Also the induction noise will enhance the riding experience coz it really sounds much louder than with the original air box.

I saw the thread with the dyno results and was interested to know whether the comparison was with a standard restricted or derestricted airbox.

What do you mean by you derestricted it?

Just pulling the snorkel / restrictor plate out of the inlet to the airbox.

Ok, you will notice a lot of difference as these engines need more air and that is what an airbox mod does, you could also fit the pre 2000 model intake boot which is less restrictive and allows more air in there too, also fit a decent can to allow the gases out, get the gearing lowered and hang on:thumbup
