So what does everyone give their Tuono's to drink, Fuel Wise?(this is my 1st thread!)

In Australia we mainly have BP, Mobil, Caltex and Shell and a few little independants. I reckon mostly riders here would use high octane fuel (98RON) regardless of any power or running benefits.

I would like to know what Tuono riders use and recommend?

unleaded, from whatever petrol station is handy.

Sorry - but unless you gert your ECU remapped, you are just wasted money.

i've heard the argument you can run as low of an octane as you want, as long as it doesn't ping. that being said, i get premium from the cheapest station in town. kinda sad to say it, but i'll avoid the mom and pop type places because i've had a couple times where my bike or car has run like crap after fueling up there. But if it looks reputable, and the wind is blowing right...i might stop.

Hi octane. I'd rather not take chances on knocks and pings as I've experienced them with other vehicles.

Aprilia recommends 95 RON or better.

I run 98 RON when I can get it, or 95 (badged as 'Premium') other times. I've had ****** fuel on occasion, even supposed 95 RON, and my T pings down low: hence my preference for the expensive stuff.

Forget E10 or any other ethanol mix. Whether ethanol breaks down with the resins used in my fuel tank or not is a moot point. I am certainly not going to risk it.

That's my two bob's worth on a subject which can be debated to death :banghead by others who know more about it than me.

I don't have a T but I have a TLS which has very similar compression and power output. I've run 87 oct (at sea level, 85 oct at altitude) for the last 60k miles. Did quite well at a dyno day on 87 oct too:deal

btw I belive the US does its octane measurements differently than the rest of the world so probably not comparable unless someone smarter than I knows more about this stuff...

In nth qld Australia we run em on Premium with no exceptions unless there is none available..... we spend all this money on our toys and then do them up so dont go cheap on the fuel.... treat it well and it will treat you well....... good luck and i dont know anyone whos had probs using std unleaded but i dont....cheers

I use Shell V power mostley, when we did the Dyno runs for the Power Commander we got the highest BHP and the smoothest dyno curves using this.
