So I haven't been able to change my modes that past month or so, and I've been stuck in sport. Which is okay and all but I was in the city last week and really wanted "T" mode for stop and go. The freakin' mode menu would not come up. SO before I reached out to the group and made an ***** out of myself yet again, I figured I'd play with it a bit (the menu toggle switch that is ), read the manual, in case it was something stupid. It was not. Or so I thought. I finally called up the dreaded dealer and made an appointment and brought her in. The tech was from Italy (specifically trained for Aprilias, or so I was told) which gave me some comfort. So he sort of asked me "service?" "map?" and fortunately I know enough Italian to try get what he was trying to say out of him. Apparently at my 600 first service the bike was re-mapped which he says is standard first service procedure.
I know this is the case with some bikes but they didn't say that when I asked them 3 months ago. SO, now you have to hit a different combinations of buttons to bring the menu up and toggle between each of the three modes. No longer does holding the toggle switch in for 3 seconds work. Wish they would have told me that. GOing stop light to stop light in 90 degree heat with your bike revving at 6k rpms is not pleasant. My testicles are deeply toasted, but at least evenly, and I wasted $700 in gas (petrol for you Brits )
The good news is, I really don't need my testicle much anymore, and it's now much easier to change modes on the fly. Did anyone else come across this? And you new guys, watch out for this. And by all means if you actually get action be mindful of toasting your testicles!
