Guys, just wanna fill you in on something. Been to a local bike meet in Lincs tonite at Market Rasen and sure enough there was a traffic car at the side of the road pulling in every biker. This time they were checking number plates!!! Hardened crims us!! Anyway it was an exercise to caution us offenders (7”x5” in my case) that as from today it is a £60 fine!!!! He was quite polite and did remind us that he had saved us £120 today as there were two of us, how kind. He also told us that they will be policing this in this area and advised us to put a standard plate on….like we have a choice or pay £60 every time we go out??? Anyhows, we got exactly the same on the way out (I know I didn’t want to go that way but my mate wanted to take the short route to get home for his tea!!!!!). This time the officer also mentioned that in the the majority of RTA’s that involved a motorcycle, the motorcycle had a small number plate as “these people seem to ride faster”!!! Cmon!!!!!

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED…£60 is it worth it???????

i'd loved to have been there for that one mate!

but im sorry i still dont take kindly to be spoken to like that by an ill informed copper! comes with living with one ( a bloody 'orrible one ) for 25 years......my dad wasnt the kinda plod you wanna meet ....you did wrong in the book like it or not! These words came from the people he used to work with !

I have a small number plate and they don't work, Bad boy and Smiffy will vouch for me on that one. :doug

My point is why waste all those gov funds, 2 x coppers x 5hrs maybe, pullin us over to caution about plates.....what a waste of cash!! do some real work boys and have a campaign to get all the tossers that dont pay road tax and insurance and drink and drive etc!!!! Sorry to rant but hardly crime of the f**kin century is it??? No wonder our council tax keeps goin up!!!!!!

Ive been pulled once for a small plate in 6 years. It was very small, like a minature car plate 6"X"2

Some let you off some are coonts and hammer you there and then, every county of police have this routine of stopping bikers in the summer its all to do with numbers and paper work!
