As the title says. This is the second one thats broke :angry. The rubber bit inside tears, poxy pieces of ****. Theyre obviously not up the the job. I dont blip the throttle downshifting so it gets used but it should be able to do its job without falling apart :jack. Im going to see if i can find a more robust valve to replace it.

i use two fingers on my left hand as my slipper clutch haven't failed me yet:devious

Fair enough.
Im not saying im not careful, but if its there then it should work.
If it doesnt work then the whole mechanism is rendered unnecessary ballast, redundant.

OK, ive been riding without the check valve since starting this thread.
I just bought some cheap fish tank check valves and wil see if theyre up to the job. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

This type doesnt have a rubber bit inside to tear. It isnt a direct fit, the pipes are a bit too big that it pushes into.
Im not paying £15 every few months for the genuine aprilia item when its a poxy piece of ****.

I think its debatable how well the PPC clutch works when it is working properly.
The only way youd get oil in the airbox from the clutch is if the diaphragm the vacuum act on has split.
Have you blown through the check valve to see if it still works?

no but i shall have a look just to see (its not a big issue if the slipper is poor as im used to twins and there fierce deceleration )

diaphragm is fine .

but i like all things to work as they should much to my wallets disgust or or should that be the wife's lol

I had some oil in my 07 airbox, and I've had the rear lock on me a couple of times down shifting before roundabouts.... so what does this say ... the the valve doesn't work and that's how the slipper works...Sorry new to such "slipper things":confused

Oil in the airbox is nothing to worry about.
The PPC clutch in the RSV isnt a true slipper clutch and I dont think it works very well, so youre still going to get lock ups with hard downchanges.
I dont think that the PPC clutch is an Aprilia thing, I think its a Rotax thing because the Rotax powered Buell 1125 has a similar system called the HVA clutch. This diagram i found might help explain things -
