slight vibe/oscillation

hi folks , went out for a blat yesterday and noticed a pronounced vibe from the front end if i took my hand off the bars you could see it as a wobble on the bars like a mini mini mini slapper .... not so noticeable at speed [prob coz im clinging on for dear life] but if i shut the throttle on slowing it was quite noticeable ,what would cause this [i bet its something like pressure ...an i havnt checked em!!!:jack] any thoughts :biggrin
 
Tyre pressures first then perhaps look at wheel balance!

I take it you have genuine Aprilia RSV bar end weights fitted too? (Aftermarket bar end weights are usually not heavy enough)

If these are OK then time to start looking at fork settings, oil levels etc.....
 
pressures i reckon ,im sure i was running 33 on the front 36 rear and the bar ends are standard cheers amb
 
OK, have you checked the rear wheel is set straight, just a little off the the left or right will cause it to oscillate very slightly.

One other thing I just remembered too is that my old ZX6R did this very slightly and it was all down to the way the tyre had worn. It had feathered on the edges which is pretty normal for bike tyres.

butch my ol fruit!!

just check that the sterring head bearings arent just a little too tight... easily checked!!

just rock the bike over so the front wheel is off the floor (get a mate help mate its easier) and waggle the bars gently around the straight ahead postition if it feels a little notchy then we need to back off your bearings a fraction.......
