Morning All,
I've noticed over the last three or four hundred miles that my clutch fluid is becoming darker I'm guessing that the time to change the infamous slave cylinder is upon me.
A quick internet search gave me the following options
Oberon £92.00
Aprilia £68.00
Motopike £44.00
Suggestions on the back of a postcard please !

If you're reasoning is purely based around the fluid going black, then just remove the fluid from the reservoir, and add new fluid. You may have to do this 2 or 3 times a year, but it's hardly any fluid and therefore minimal cost.

In my opinion there are only 2 reasons why you would need to change the slave cylinder:
1 you are having difficulty getting neutral
2 you are having discomfort/pain with constant use of the clutch in traffic

If the above applies then the general concensus across a few forums,is that the Oberon one is the way to go.

the only reason to change the slave when its not fooked is to add some :bling
if the sight of the black fluid is putting you off then put a sock on it :yes much cheaper :thumbup

i changed the o-ring for a non rubber version off a compressor unit when i had my falco and never had blacking of the fluid again, quick and easy to do!

If you Google it, you'll find it's a very common occurence with pretty much all bikes with hydraulic clutches. There are some things you can do to try and prevent it, but it doesn't impact anything by going dark. If it bothers you, get a reservoir that's not clear!

That's the way they work mucker,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,jist go faster and wae any luck you'll be lookin up the road and not notice. :thumbup
