Here you go.
can't afford loads of pairs of boots, and the way our weather is need something water proof, and my water proof alpine stars are comming to the end of thier life.

Always had alpinestars boots in the past and they were tops , both normal race ones and black goretex waterproof ones -found them comfy but even though I have quite wide feet, the goretex boots never leaked and that was all year round on the bike.

I've known guys with the normal sidi's and they basically said the same thing as big un did re the soles being thin and wearing quicker than others - maybe theyve changed in the last 4 yrs or so.

Big un, what are these puma ones? Never heard of them.

sounds like the big guy is investing (heavily) in what are claimed to be the most protective sports boots on the market at the moment.

They look to me like work in progress (a kind of plastic space frame - dont really like the look of them really) - and puma also make some serioulsy dosgy looking biking 'leisure' boots so be careful if you bid on fleabay:puke

me myself on 2 pairs of alpinestars. bought a pair and ran for a couple of years always knowing they were too tight and uncomfortable. eeventually bought a second pair a size bgiier - much better till the front seam split on them - rode around for weeks with gaffer tape wrapped round holding them together like a propoer pikey:dunno

been out today with the old small one on my left foot and my thinnest sock and a thick sock plus the newer proper size one on the right (thick sock to make them feel not too different) it kinda works ------ how tight am i not to buy a decent pair ???????? :jack:jack:jack

This is what happened to the sole of mine after about 6 months of riding, although i do move my feet about a fair bit when riding

Ive got Alpinestar SMX now, a very comfy boot, but squeek, man alive them fcukers squeek when ya move ya foot, when im next in the market for boots im gonna look at the Arlen Ness ones, RS3mille has just bought a pair and they look the bollox and he says they are really comfy :thumbup

Personally found sidi too thin for me feet, swopped to Alpinestars smx plus and are awesome. Monkey joe has these sidi rain boots and swears by them ,keep you dry and he loves em

I've had the puma boots for about 3 months. So far so good, but i'd definately recommend going up a size, possibly two sizes if you buy a pair. Once you have got used to getting them on and getting passed the ankle protection system they are certainly comfy comfy. Not convinced as to how long they'll last though (my SMX's are 6 years old and still going strong...ish) as there are lots of bits of plastic to break off. If you have thin carbon heel guards on your rearsets be warned, depending on the angle that you have your foot at, the inside plastic on the boot can trap the heel guard between it and the boot. Which makes it interesting the first time it ever happens and you can't move your foot :D The other thing is that unlike the squeak my trusty Alpinestars SMX's give out, the pumas sound like you are wearing bloody spurs! :laugh

Good quality though and bargain prices to be had out there if you look around :thumbup
