Hi everyone,
Well I looked at 3 possibilities for upgrading the stand.
1. Complete redesign.......Too expensive & too time consuming.
2. Fabricate the top saddle as one piece....Too expensive & time consuming.
3. Redesign the top saddle to accept weld on the inside as well as the outer mating edges.....DONE.
This stand has been on the bike for a few weeks & I have personally strapped the bike down with ratchet straps, bounced the bike up & down on the stand ( 2 of us actually lifted the bike a few inches off the ground & let go !. Also pivoted the whole weight of the bike on the stand with both wheels off the ground & finally sat on the bike & pivoted it on the stand ( both wheels off the ground ) with my mate helping me to balance !
The stand has no signs of cracking etc & short of x-raying that's about as much as I can do to ensure the integrity.
Any comments / questions or concerns welcomed about the new stands OR the previous stands.
Gary
