Sidestand touchdown on left hander!!!!!! Anyone else?

Rode the twisty way home from work this evening, got a scraping noise on a particularly good downhill left:confused. Checked the bike when I got home - Bubseywoo sidestand is now chamfered on its foot::eek::. Not too keen on this happening, could be dodgy, anyone else had this problem.:dunno

Is the spring still pulling the stand up??...............You must of been really going for it if not.

was you off throttle going down hill where you would have no suspension extension due to chain forces or in the dip where it wouldbe compressed anyway?
 
Yep, spring still working properly, no I wasn't hangin about, went steaming past a white marked up car on parked up behind a hedge on the A621 (4th most dangerouse road in Britain according to MCN this week :jack ). Think it must have been a Paramedic car, though I didn't wait to find out.:thumbup
 
No, was on the throttle, not in a dip. Sidestand is underneath swingarm therefore not affected by suspension compressing surely:devious
 
If my name was Valentino Rossi I wouldn't be riding home from work at 7:30 pm:nana
 
Only once, first time I was at Cadwell and completely cocked up the left before the mountain - fully compressed suspension in that little crater there. Never on the road though and I had a BW stand on for a year.
 
Done it a few times on the road with the standard sidestand, suspension compression means the stand is closer to the ground, you need a fair bit of lean angle to do it:biggrin
 
It happens to me all the time, then I go for a piss and get back into bed :)
 
Never happened to me but i'm damn sure gonna try now!!!

Oh well, i had a decent life i suppose.....:eek:
