sidestand issue - cant find thread

O

OZMILLE

Hey guys

Well almost got out Sunday for a ride after 3 months off the bike and tinkering.

However I noticed that since fitting the bubseywoo sidestand the light stays on, so as soon as in gear........................................she dies:doug

Anyway I know there is a small mod to bypass this, cant seem to find the

SIDESTAND BYPASS MOD FOR IDIOTS page...........

PLEASE HELP.

Cheers Pete

Switch should be ok, worked before I swapped to the bubseywoo!!

Could be a location problems perhaps, will check.

Cheers Pete :thumbup

PS: The thread I was looking for was one where you bypass it all, cut the cord or something like that, basically to disable it all together :dunno

I wired the two outer ones as my switch was dead and plugged it into the loom, this involved cutting the switch off the wiring. Just used some electrical tape. I will problies buy another switch at some point though to be honest.

Mate, the switch has just rotated a bit far round - take it off then adjust it while watching the dash light and you will see how to set it. Then just bolt it on like that.

Point taken, and thats what I shall try first............:thumbup

Make sure that the switch rod is not broken in later models they made it in metal. If it is a plastic one easy fix by drilling a 2 mm hole into the main unit and screw an bolt in and then cut the head off afterwards.

I've recently replaced my sidestand with a Honda Fireblade one (thanks for the tip fellas) I had the same problem after fitting it, then after shouting a lot and hitting things I realised that I had simply not relocated the switch correctly BEFORE attaching the stand which made the sensor think the stand was down all the time. Took me an age to realise what I had done and about 5 mins to sort out....
