Just stripped the sidestand switch and what a load of :jack

I have just 2mm of raised plastic to turn the switch....................I can see trouble ahead. hopefully not when im going up the motorway towards the Isle of man!!!

So can I bypass it and is it an easy mod.??

How long is the plastic knob that comes out of the switch?

I reckon that I sheared it off when i did the bolt up at the back of the stand ffs.:jack:jack

Is the switch on the clutch lever to stop it starting in gear?

The sidestand switch i suppose I could bypass, as I am really careful that its up after a little accident i had 20 years ago on a moped lol

You must have an old style switch. They were modded to an all metal pin design about 4 or 5 years ago

Hi Spoonz

Just spoken to Mark at Time machines and he is sending one out to me with a metal PIN.

A question Spoonz, how should i know protect the switch against failure?

I have some DC4 electrical contact grease and WD40 etc.

How would you play it?

The later type switch is pretty robust comapred to original. Just keep it crud free as much as poss. It if looks dry give it a squirt of something like switch grease which you can buy in spray cans. Failing that anything that leaves a lube film behind. Wd40 tends to vamooose fairly quickly

So if i put WD40 in the rotating switch housing and then protect that with DC4 that must be the best solution?
