Hi, wonder if anyone on the site can help. I had a problem with my RSV (00) model last year when it seemed to seize up on me whilst out riding. It sounded like a top end problem but i'm not exactly sure what the problem was. I did notice the oil seen through the plexiglass was rather cloudy but other than that no oil spillage just a rattling from the top end with a gradual loss of power until it just stopped dead!. I am desperate to get the bike on the road again but it needs this problem and a few others sorting.I am based in the Midlands and am looking for somewhere i can take the bike to to get all the work sorted.
Any suggestions advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

no expert here too, so it was the only thing I could think of. I suppose the cloudy oil could point to water gettin in somewhere past the cylinder head, but the rattling, other than the valves needing checked i have no idea. Good luck

there's prolly now way of know without cracking it open...i'd guess oil pump or something though :O sorry i don't know any dealers out there. :banghead

I'm guessing that it's open as he's checked the cam chain. I take it you've checked the plugs and HT leads...

I've checked the top end and it all looks normal to me. At this stage of the game i just want to take it somewhere and get it sorted...missing that vee twin power!

what i would do is take the plugs out and try turning the engine over with a ratchet to see if it has seized first....then go from there....

Ant999 give Griff a call at customrestoandrace on 07913 422998. They are based in Tamworth. Griff is very clued up on RSV's.

Finally got my bike sorted...just in time for the rainy season :(
Anyway picked up a secondhand engine and the guys at Custom Resto and Race in Tamworth slotted it in and set the bike up for me. Have to say a big thank you to Griff, Roy and the guys at custom; great bunch of lads and they know a thing or two about milles!
