Hi guys
I am after a pair of Showa stanchions / fork tubes to fit Gen1 2003 Tuono.
My fork seals started leaking recently. Some enthusiastic stopping action at Rockingham might have helped, but it’s probably down to gentle pitting that starts to appear on the stanchions.
My question is are there different versions of Showa forks?
I’m talking about bog standard 2003 Tuono (no fancy letters) and from what I’ve read so far these must be same as fitted on RSV Mille 1998-2003 and some Falcos and Futuras (years?) Is that really so?
Could you advise where to source a decent pair please - I'd rather avoid second hand stuff.
Also striping forks down seems pretty straightforward with enough topics on the subject, but how about detaching the bottoms from the stanchions – any practical advice?
And finally any ideas about where to source a pair of new seals and why not new bushings?
Do you think aftermarket seals (from say Wemoto) are inferior to OEMs?
Thank you for the patience to read through all that :cheers
