Should I swap to an RSV?

I am thinking of selling my 06 gen 2 Tuono and buying an 06 RSV from my cousin.

I've had the T for 2.5 years and love it but have always fancied a full on sports bike. I took the RSV for a ride on Sunday and it feels very similar/identical in performance to the T. As a taller person I did find the RSV pretty cramped compared to the T.

However, I'm not that happy with the front end feel of the T and the Ohlins forks on the RSV are an attraction. Plus, it's a lovely looking bike.

Should I follow my heart and buy the RSV or my head and stick with the T?

Help please. And if anyone is in the market for a very nice 06 silver/black Gen 2 Tuono let me know, it may sway my decision! :yes

Cheers.

Up to you isn't it. I don't think the ohlins make much of a difference on the front really apart from the blind aspect. At Te end if the day it comes down to personal choice. I like the riding position of the t. I end up with neck ache on sports bikes and I much prefer to be comfortable riding than cramped up. Cramped up is for racers imo. Very few sports bikes on the continent. Seems only Britain and a few other countries have this obsession with sports. On the continent it's much more super Motos etc

Gonna play devils advocate here. I miss the looks of my rsvr, the T don't do the same for me in that department but prefer the ride position of the T & enjoy clocking up the miles more. Do you go for looks over comfort?

Mate, I`ve had both the RSV, and now the Tuono, and as bay says, it`s your choice really.....

Yes, the RSV is slightly better looking, but much as I enjoyed mine, there`s absolutely NO way that I`d have one back over the T, due to the fact that the performance is exactly the same, or certainly is up to speeds that would have you banged up caught doing them on the road..........and the fact that the T is so much more enjoyable, certainly for me anyway, due to the riding position.

Up to you bud, but don`t look a gifthorse in the mouth with the T, as you get both sportsbike AND comfy riding position all in one.

Good luck with it, and if you do change, you`ll enjoy the RSV no-end, as long as you can live with the riding position..........:thumbup

So let's see Bmin. Yi say you're cramped on the RSV but like the ohlins...hmmmm! Get a T factory or fit ohlins.
The front end thing is different. I know what you mean. When I come off the blade it feels like the T is flighty as fook with the front wheel skimming the road etc. Yet when (and I know that this might sound daft due to mi username) I start ti get round the twisties the T feels as good a handling bike that I'll ever need. It fact the front end feeling o the T is what makes it what it is....mad, fun, and different.
The choice is yours min. If yer only planning to hoon aroon rear yer hoose for an hour at a time, then the RSV might be for you. If it were me I would keep the T.

You don't mention what shock you have, my front felt flighty, but an Ohlins shock and new tyres it's a different bike

Stick with the joys of wide upright bars, ' drums, get a factory T if u wanna da bling springs :)

Still undecided.

Tuono Robbo, I do really like the look of the RSV but the comfort of the T is why I've had it so long. If i was sensible I'd stick with the T but since when has riding bikes been about being sensible?

Wes, I have had my suspension set up recently and swapped out the original Sachs shock with the slightly better unit from an RSV. It has made a difference to the front end feel but it is still a bit flighty. I just put a new tyre on the front too which has helped. If I do decide to keep the T I'll have the front forks serviced and see how that helps.

I think I just fancy a change and as my cousin is selling his RSV i thought it was a good idea. As long as I could sell my bike for a reasonable amount it wouldn't cost me anything. If I had the money I would just buy the new Tuono V4 to be honest.

Bmin, The T is the most unsensible bike I've owned and that's why I like it in a way. I think your answer is in your last post

"If I had the money I would just buy the new Tuono V4 to be honest"

Yer a T man through and through.:)

I love my Tuono as much as the next bloke on here, but Shock! Horror! that doesn't mean to say I'll keep it forever.

Part of the fun of biking is to have a change of bike every once in a while. If you fancy a change, then change. If you don't like the replacement, change again.

You're only here once... enjoy!

Very true, Sparky. Sometime I focus a little too much on my T, may be just a little, like saying good night to her...ahem I mean it, and caressing the tank.....mmmm. Bit a T time :)

Yo Biggums ... I'll give you £250 for your T ... PM me and I will Western Union funds immediately
