On a serious note, I was shocked when I removed this tonight, Ive been riding this since last year and surely it must have been like this since I got it. :dowhat

No, even had it on Marks Dyno last Saturday!

Produced 117 at the wheel.

I decided to change gearing and bought a chain and sprockets when I called into Marks on Saturday seen as I was round the corner getting my tyres fitted.

Think it was a wise purchase now!

Check your rear hub while your on! Mine was held on with two bolts and one of those were loose. The other three bolts had spun themselves out completely. A common problem aparently.

Now threadlocked in place.

That's amazing. Surely it wouldnt have lasted any longer. What was the chain like? It must have been stretched or had tight spots?

The chain was fine, no tight links, and still had adjustment. Thats why I almost didnt change it. The rear sprocket had very little signs of wear.

Will do and thread lock is a thumbs up

Fook me mate, bet your glad I talked into a new one now. Keep hold of that I will have it off you when I next see you.

If that sprocket was changed as part if a kit I can't see how it could get to that stage without the rear sprocket showing signs of 'hooking' or the chain having stretched past its limit?? Did you or have you measured your chains stretch? Im guessing the rear sprocket was steel and not alloy too?

Regardless you've been real lucky as if the chain had.bunched under your front sprocket cover you could've been spat off the bike :-o

I'm guessing the previous owner was not a) mechanically minded or sympathetic b) really bothered about the bike.

As in my original posts last year I bought it as a project, just really getting into it now as I enjoyed riding it last year.

I think the rear sprocket and chain may have been changed but not the front.
