God-dammit! i ain't argueing with you anymore Spoonz, far too clever & you
always make me look even more stupid than i am lol
a true wealth of information :confused:thumbup

Building I work in has Superbike Mag on one of the floors. They had a white and orange RC8R in for test earlier this year. I was a good 5mins later in the office everyday, had t stop and look every morning.

Keep getting VERY tempted to go drop £11k on an RC8-R. Though second hand models can be seen at around £8k sometimes! The 2011 got some updates though, mainly to fuelling to make it smoother. I wonder if a remap would do the same on an earlier model? (and still be way cheaper).

Don't know about the rc8 had a shot of one when i traded the ape in and handling wise great but the throttle was very on off and it vibrated like a mother ****** and spoonz m8 defo go for a 1200 multistrada i was out for a ride oot up through callander to tyndrum (gods road) and a guy on one of they bad boys was flying i couldnt get by him mind the daytona is a bit down on power for the road but i was very impressed and wi the termi's sounded amazing, bloody hell i miss my twin......

I moved up to the RC8 when my Edwards Rep got binned.

It is a stonking bike. Mines the origonal animal (09). Put a softer rear spring in & changed the throttle cam (std mods) and no regrets. I still have the RSV but dont use it as the RC8 is so good, & the current ones are superb bits of kit.

I did look at getting the RSV4 or RSV (would have been 08-09?).

The only problem with the RSV4 is its not Japanese.

Touche m8, but on the track mid corner ooooooh lovelly makes me feel special considering my lack of talent anyone can go faster on track wi a daytona than an rsv, try it you know it makes sense ,i think the colour of mines makes it more girly but ive got the race fairings on noo and it looks a bit more manly tho, on a tangent went to watch the scottish championships at east fortune a while back and the top two bikes in the thunders were ktms one guy went out a bit hard and cartwheeled his about 5 times wasnt much left of it build quaility ***** lol........

Come on here for a quick look and just to say I've sold my rsvr I'd had for years and bought a new RC8R, brilliant, still a few niggles and shunting at town speeds but otherwise it's bloody brilliant. It handles better and feels very light. Miss the low down torque of the rsv and the sound. The ktm's well built, and you can adjust everything, plus... the dealer's are helpful and after sales service is much better. That road from Tarbet to Oban is sublime....used to live in Taynuilt and was always thrashing my Rx7 around there... grand.

If my 2007 Factory somehow should go missing I would by me a new one (follow link). If I where worried by other peoples RC8s 1198s or otherwise there is plenty of Big Bore kits and other stuff that would put it back in the ballpark. Secondhand value would be a problem I admit, but I probably do a "nel culo tutti" on that one. I have discussed possible tuning strategies with Kämna in Germany and the money saved compared to a 2012 bike would be plenty to pay for say 160 true big bore ponies at the rear wheel. Mines at 140 at the moment and I don't get left behind that often.
