Hi, please be patient as I am still learning about my bike. My shift light dos not light before the rev limiter kicks in, can I change the rev limit or the time the light comes on. 2003 tuono fighter. Cheers. Darren.

You can change the shift light by pressing button C on the dash panel. Its all in yer handbook.
If you dont have the book,...switch on ign,(dont start the engine)press button C for about 3secs.Release the button the press again to set the revs. The rev counter needle will point the way.

Thanks Keith, at what revs should the rev limiter be coming in, and what revs would you recomend I set shift light at? Thanks again. Darren.

fD a don't think yer can change the rev limiter, but yer can set the light to come on whenever yer want. Am sure KB will keep yer right aboot when the limiter kicks in, all a know is it's at the top end of the range.

Its strange when you change from a four, to a twin, the engine sounds like its doing nowt, but you are flying along, and the rev's are lower, which is why I keep hitting the limiter..

You'll get used to it FD. Change gear a bit more and use the torque of the V twin engine. Its a totally different riding style to an inline 4

From the handbook, maximum power,(at the crank) is at 9500rpm and Aprilia do not recommend revving over 10500rpm.I guess the rev limiter cuts in at 11000rpm.
Personally,I'd set the shift light to 10,000rpm.
As GF says,a twin needs a different riding style than a four.No need to rev the knackers out of it,...surf that big sea of torque man.

Will try to use the torque to better effect in future. Thanks for help chaps.
