Finally got the RSV running after what seems like years in the shed. Was only 2 months but it seemed like an eternity.

New solenoid and battery fitted, had to bugger about with the sidestand switch cos it was playing up (turns out the 2-wire Fireblade switch works just fine). Checked the brown connector, but it's fine. Wheeled her outside and away she went. A very short run up the road to make sure it ran ok, and now I'm a happy man.

Or I will be when I've managed to undo the rear suspension bolts to swap the shock. And I have a problem with the headlight; the main beam sometimes plays up, plunging me into darkness. Has anyone else had this problem? Seems like a switch problem to me, I'll take a look next week, unless anyone's got a spare.....:devious

have a look at the mods and do the headlight main beam relay mod the one where you solder a diode between the 2 switch terminals so when you put the mains on the dip stays on wont cure fault but you wont be in darkness

I had a similar problem, the lights were ******* with me.

I replaced the light connector(check yours) that looked porly. But in the end it was one of the relays. So I would check this first, there on the left side od the dashboard. There 3 of them (high beam, low beam and fans), switch them a bit and see if your problem goes away.

I didn't think to check the relays. Bugger. Should be simple enough to sort out.

My biking bug has come back with a vengeance:biggrin
