Doeas any of you gays pay any heed to the sharp rating system when buying a new helmet?

I quite fancy an AGV but they dont seem to rate very highly, should this matter in the purchase of a helmet? :confused

I am not GAY i have a wife and everythin....not that im against gays mind you whatever you get up tae and all that in your own time,:biggrin not that im sayin your gay either mind:biggrin maybe ive made to much of the gay thing what is it they say ,he doth protest to much or somthing:dowhat:devious:thumbup anyway the sharp test, i dont hold much sway with this test as it didn't rate the new arai much cop and thats pobs the best helmet on the market or is that the dearest, ive got the shark rs2r troy corser rep and rate it very highly:thumbup:thumbup

Hi mate, i dont even know what the sharp rating is haha, all helmets are tested to a required standard which is good enough for me. as far as i can see the real differences in 'cheap' to pricey helmets is weight/ventilation/build quality/design/quietness etc etc. Ive just bought an AGV k3 (cheper of the AGV helmets) in a 2011 rossi design and am very pleased with it. reasonably light, nice padding, good fastening, effective vents and really nice design. if AGV is good enough for Rossi they're good enough for me :)

Well I do like to look at the Sharp rating when I'm looking for a lid, but any of the big players I think you're pretty safe with. People tend to say that the most important thing is that its a good fit. Thats why I always buy from a shop, as opposed to ebay/interweb. Once I tried one on in a shop, then bought the same one same size of ebay. Sneakt huh ? When it came I swear it did not fit as well as the one in the shop ! So I sent it back.

When I try one on in a shop now after I've picked and the fella gets me a boxed one out the back I try that on too, just incase its any different from the one on display !

Back to sharp ratings. I once read an article about why Arai score so **** on it. one of the impact tests is done on the side the lid, about where your ear is. Arai's tended to be weak there, but Arai say that part of the lid is never hit hard because your shoulder takes the brunt of the impact when you land on your side. They said that their years of supplying racers gave them enough data to prove it, so thats a place where they can save a bit of weight. And who am I to argue ???

go for best fit . . . end of

i thought i said i don't mind gay people if they keep it to themselves not plaster it over a forum:devious:devious:biggrin
