Just in front of the rear sprocket Aprilia have what they call a toe guard:thumbup

its a rudder for when you go through a deep puddle , i is a numpty me finks innit!!! ;-)
It has to be on for racing but it prevents your foot or toes getting in between the chain and sprocket thus avoiding amputation of toes
So its just extra saftey:thumbup
